Nike (Νίκη in Ancient Greek) is the goddess of victory. Nike was a close companion to Zeus alongside her siblings Kratos (Strength), Bia (Force), and Zelus (Zeal) to every battle he fought. Her Roman counterpart is Victoria.
History[]
Nike and her siblings were close companions of Zeus to every battle he was a part of. According to classical (later) myth, Styx brought them to Zeus when the god was assembling allies for the Great Titan War (the first one). Nike assumed the role of the divine charioteer, a role in which she often is portrayed in Classical Greek art. Nike flew around battlefields rewarding the victors with glory and fame. She is also very close acquaintances with Athena and a statue of Nike is in the palm of the grand statue of Athena in Parthenon.
Appearance[]
Nike is sometimes seen with her wings ready to fly with short curly hair and fair complexion of her face. She often wears a short white dress to let fly through the winds with ease. However, she has been known to wear her own Nike (which she owns) gear wearing it head to toe. The company is one her proudest achievements.
