Kratos is the Greek god of strength, rage, and power, his Roman counterpart being Potestas, and a son of Zeus. He, along with his later siblings Nike, Bia and Zelos, were the enforcers and warriors of Zeus.
Kratos is by far the only demigod that has ascended to a full god.
Appearance[]
Kratos is the epitome of what a Spartan soldier is in that he is essentially made for battle. He is exceptionally tall, standing at a height between 6 to 7 feet, in which, due to his status a warrior, he is at his peak physical condition. He has a red tattoo going down the majority of his upper body and up to his face. He has a shaggy black beard and a bald head.
In the mortal realm, he appears as a football player or an axeman.
History[]
Born a Spartan, Kratos was the demigod son of Zeus and a mortal woman named Callisto, although he would remain unaware of who his father was for most of his life. Outraged at Zeus for fathering yet another bastard child, Hera ordered Kratos' execution on the day he was born, but the King of the Gods took pity on the child and refused, leaving him in Sparta to be raised by Callisto.
Like all other Spartan youth, Kratos was monitored and trained for combat by the Spartan authorities; those who were deemed fit were to stay and be trained as Spartan warriors, while those who were deemed unfit would be sent to the mountains, sealing their fate. Already feisty and aggressive in his youth, Kratos trained together with his younger brother, Deimos, as they dreamed of joining the Spartan army when they grew up. However, Deimos had died during a training mission.
Decades later, Kratos was a military general until he was chosen by Zeus to become a god. For the next decade, Kratos begrudgingly yet dutifully served the Gods of Olympus in whatever tasks they required of him. He is known as one of the gods to had dragged Prometheus to the rock where he was tortured until Heracles freed him.
